CONSULTANT CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr Kat Allen
I am an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead, working with children, young people, and adults across a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental needs. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2005, completing my doctorate training at the University of Hertfordshire, and have worked within the NHS since qualifying—continuing to do so alongside my wider practice.
My career has spanned senior leadership roles, where I have led multidisciplinary teams and developed innovative, inclusive clinical pathways. I am values-driven and collaborative, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and making psychological support accessible and meaningful for all.
I am passionate about supporting individuals, families, and professionals, and have been recognised for service innovation and leadership. My clinical work includes assessment, therapy, supervision, and service development, always aiming to centre the voices and needs of those I work with. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the University of Reading.
I tailor therapy to each individual and am always happy to make adjustments in communication or approach to ensure people feel comfortable and understood. I strive to be approachable, supportive, and flexible in my work.
